Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal announced that the Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway is expected to be completed within three years. The Prime Minister is scheduled to lay the foundation stone shortly, signaling the government’s commitment to advancing the project.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, Ahsan emphasized the motorway’s importance for regional connectivity. “This infrastructure will significantly improve travel and trade between Sukkur and Hyderabad,” he said, highlighting the economic benefits for southern Pakistan.

The minister expressed confidence in the timely completion of the project and linked its development to broader national growth. He cited praise from international financial institutions regarding Pakistan’s economic performance and referenced the ‘Udaan Pakistan’ initiative as a crucial element in promoting sustainable development. According to Ahsan, achieving $100 billion in exports is essential for long-term prosperity, alongside tax reforms to bolster economic growth and resource development.

Addressing questions about delays, Ahsan noted that if the previous government had continued its term, the motorway would have been finished by 2021 or 2022. He assured the public that the current leadership has prioritized infrastructure, with projects now expected to meet deadlines more efficiently. “The government remains committed to completing key projects on schedule,” he stated, urging citizens to remain patient and trust the ongoing efforts.

August is a month of national significance, and Ahsan highlighted celebrations marking Pakistan’s independence and military achievements. He praised the country’s response to regional tensions, framing it as an example of resilience and national unity. The Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway, he added, is part of a broader agenda to strengthen infrastructure and support regional development.

The motorway will not only enhance transportation efficiency but also facilitate trade and connectivity across the southern region of Pakistan. By linking major urban centers, it is expected to stimulate economic activity and contribute to national growth objectives. Ahsan Iqbal reiterated that with focused planning and government oversight, the project aims to be completed within the three-year timeframe.

In conclusion, the Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway represents a major infrastructure investment for Sindh province, promising improved mobility, economic expansion, and stronger regional integration. The project underscores the government’s commitment to advancing national development and ensuring the timely execution of large-scale initiatives.
