Uy Revives Proposal for Enhanced Management of Philippine Air Traffic

Senator Francis Tolentino Uy has revived a proposal aimed at enhancing the management of air traffic in the Philippines, seeking to address ongoing concerns regarding congestion and inefficiencies within the country’s aviation system. 

On February 18, 2025, Uy expressed the urgency of implementing reforms to improve air traffic management and ensure the safety and reliability of air travel.

The proposal calls for the establishment of a centralized air traffic management system, leveraging advanced technology and best practices to streamline operations at key airports across the nation. 

“It is imperative that we invest in modernizing our air traffic management to meet the demands of increasing air traffic and to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers,” Uy stated.

With the Philippine aviation industry recovering from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for effective air traffic management has never been more critical.
