Australia ventures into new territory on Saturday as they take on South Africa in a T20I series decider at Cairns’ Cazaly Stadium. The venue’s history may influence team selection, particularly regarding spin options. Kuhnemann has appeared only once since his debut in the second T20I in Jamaica last month, where Australia relied heavily on spin to contain the West Indies. He also featured as a substitute fielder in Darwin, dropping Dewald Brevis, who went on to score a match-winning 125 not out.

South Africa’s spin attack has varied, with left-arm orthodox spinners George Linde and Senuran Muthusamy left out of the second game in Darwin. The team relied on legspinner Nqabayomzi Peter and skipper Aiden Markram, highlighting their pacers’ success against Australia’s top-order.

Australia faces injury challenges, with Mitchell Owen ruled out after a concussion and Matt Short sidelined with a side strain. Josh Inglis and Nathan Ellis are expected to return after missing the previous match, while Aaron Hardie could rejoin the XI following the Caribbean series.
