Pakistan Launches Haval H6 PHEV, Boosting Industry

Lahore, 16 August 2025, Pakistan’s automobile industry reached a new milestone on Saturday with the launch of the Haval H6 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) by Sazgar Engineering Limited at the Expo Centre in Lahore. The event highlighted growing opportunities for industrial development and investment in the country’s automotive sector.

National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq addressed the ceremony, noting that Pakistan is moving in the right direction to strengthen its economy. He stated that the government’s long-term target is to place Pakistan among the world’s top ten economies by 2030. He further pointed to increasing foreign exchange reserves and remittances as indicators of stability and resilience.

“The introduction of the Haval H6 PHEV is an important step for Pakistan’s automobile sector, reflecting both technological advancement and international cooperation,” Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said.

He also underlined Pakistan’s natural resources, including rivers, minerals, and a skilled workforce, calling them a major opportunity for the country’s development. He urged both public and private sectors to make use of these resources to promote progress and innovation.

Speaking on Pakistan-China relations, the Speaker described the partnership as central to the country’s economic strategy. He noted that initiatives such as the Haval H6 launch demonstrate the potential for deeper industrial collaboration between the two nations.

Sazgar Engineering CEO Mian Asad Hameed also spoke at the event, describing the Haval H6 PHEV as a technologically advanced vehicle built to international standards. He expressed confidence that the model would boost Pakistan’s automotive market and contribute to industrial growth.

The event was also attended by Cao Ke, Acting Consul General of China in Lahore, who praised the strong and ongoing cooperation between China and Pakistan. He reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s industrial expansion and encouraging foreign investment.

The launch was hosted by fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin and attended by representatives of Sazgar Engineering, GWM International, PakWheels, and members of the automotive community. The showcase of the Haval H6 PHEV was presented as evidence of Pakistan’s improving manufacturing capacity and technological progress.

Industry observers see the launch as part of a broader trend of industrial modernization in Pakistan, aimed at attracting both foreign and domestic investment. The government has emphasized industrial advancement and international partnerships as key to building a competitive market in South Asia.
